A small white paper plate was the turkey body for the words of feather gratefulness to be stapled to and coloring the pilgrims ‘blue’? seemed to be a very natural choice –diversity applied at Thanksgiving? ? maybe-beauty is in the eye of the child.
No matter our circumstance or situation in life, we can all give thanks…which is what the families at the Salvation Army shelter did recently gluing red, yellow and orange construction paper cut-out feathers. Feathers with the words mom, dad, cousins, food, toys, sisters and ‘Flash’ [must be the name of a friend].
And no party is complete unless the kiddos are lickin’ frosting and dropping cookies crumbs everywhere around the craft table.
Entering this special season, may we all remember to give thanks for what God has provided in each of our lives…no matter our circumstances. Praise the Lord! Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever! Psalm 106:1
